Mean Machine Wins

Fresno, CA (July 7, 2018)- The Save-Mart Center in Fresno, CA had no love for anything less than a blood bath tonight. A cascade of boos echoed in the air following both televised fights as the house fighters both walked away with victories.

‘Mean Machine’ Egidijus Kavaliauskas 20-0 16KO’s filled in as the main event after Danny O’Connor was hospitalized for severe dehydration attempting to cut weight. The main attraction and selling point of the event Jose Ramirez was unable to find a replacement opponent in 24 hours.

Kavaliauskas landed big shots but the power that earned him the name ‘Mean Machine’ never materialized to seriously hurt the hard nosed Abreu who came to upset the apple-cart.

Firing big one-two’s Kavaliauskas was cut over the eyebrow early but never seemed to be bothered by the slow trickle of blood. Abreu Gave just as good as he got as both fighters fought a sloppy affair that turned up the heat in the last round as Abreu came out as if he knew he was down on the cards of a close fight.

Both fighters traded big right hands down the stretch and the judges card read 97-93 (twice) and 96-94 for Edigijus Kavaliauskas.

Vences Unimpressive in Win

Firing one punch at a time Andy Vences 20-0-1 12KO’s cruised to a unanimous decision victory over Frank De Alba 22-4-2 9KO’s. The Fresno crowd was unappreciative of Vences safety first boxing style of firing one punch at a time. De Alba woke up in the final round but that was about all the action in the fight as he tried to press the slicker Vences with little to no real success.

On scores of 99-91 (twice) and 98-92 Andy Vences remains unbeaten and stays ready for a possible rematch with Erick De Leon.
