Las Vegas, November 30th, 2019- Fighting at 130 looks pretty good on “The Jackal” Carl Frampton 27-2 15KOs as he cruised to shutout over Tyler McReary 16-1-1 7KOs of Toledo Ohio.
McReary came out very defensive and threw flurries in spots off a check left hook that never checked enough of Frampton’s offense.
Frampton fired a mixed volley of consistent punches and never strayed from the body until it finally paid off when McReary went down from a right, left hook combo to the body forcing him to a knee.
Frampton stayed on top of McReary cutting him to the corners of the ring dropping him again with a double left hook to the body at 1:10 of the ninth round.
After ten official scores read 100-88 on all three cards for the Irishman to set up a title fight against fellow TopRank 130 pound Champion Jamel Herring.
“He’s a nice guy and I love him, I just want to fight for a world title” Frampton said in his post fight interview with Christina Poncher “He’s the champion, if it happens in Belfast then happy days, but if not I’ll go to New York or wherever”.
“Tyler is pretty tall. We’ve seen that he’s left gaps. My hand wasn’t great coming into the camp as well.” ““I re-fractured the hand twice in camp, but I knew a lot of people were coming to support me. There was absolutely no way I wasn’t fighting.” Frampton said.
Looking more like an elite fighter than one who has one foot out the door Frampton shows there’s still plenty left in the tank.
