Las Vegas, November 2nd, 2019- A few months ago Ryan Garcia 19-0 16KOs was thrown into a situation that forced public opinion against him. When his opponent for a scheduled fight in Los Angeles fell-out the day of the weigh in because of legal issues, Garcia was told to face Romero Duno 21-2 16KOs on one days’ notice. Garcia very publicly and rightfully declined that fight.
Fast forward to tonight, Garcia needed less than a round to lay waste to the hard punching Duno. A one-two down the pipe put Duno down and out as referee Tony Weeks called a quick halt to the fight. Garcia answered a lot of questions tonight and made an emphatic statement about the future of his career.

During the post-fight interview Garcia said I feel good, all respect to Duno he came to fight, he came in shape he caught me with that over hand right. When he caught me with that shot I knew I could handle it and I was alright.”

When asked about future opponents, specifically Devin Haney Garcia said “In the future those fights will be huge when they happen, right now I’m only 21 and I’ll fight who my team tells me to fight. Those fights will come.”

Estrada Beats Esparza By Technical Unanimous Decision
There was bad blood between Seniesa Estrada 18-0 7KOs of East Los Angeles and Houston’s Marlen Esparza 7-1 1KO all week and it spilled out into the ring. Literally.
Estrada took charge of the fight early with a busy jab and check left hooks to throw the former Olympian off balance throughout the fight. A big clash of heads in the fifth round opened a huge gash on the forehead of Esparza. Blood dripping into here eyes Esparza fought on but began to fade as Estrada came on.

Firing sharp, fast combinations Estrada controlled the distance on the tiring Esparza. Momentarily the big screen would flash to Esparza’s corner between rounds displaying the massive gash to ooh’s from the crowd. Before the start of the 10th round Esparza decided to not come out sending the result of the fight to the scorecards. The gash was ruled opened due to a head butt, under the rules of the Nevada State Athletic Commission after the fourth round of a fight the result will be decided by the scorecards.

Scores read 90-80, 89-82, and 88-83 all in favor of Estrada. “I felt great tonight, headbutt or not I still whooped her ass.” Estrada said still upset at the comments from Esparza’s camp this week.

“It didn’t change my fight, I’ve fought with a gash on my head and blood streaming down my face before. I felt great in the late rounds, I could go 15 rounds. I clearly won every round, she was underestimating me because I fight at 108 pounds but I don’t hit like a 108 pounder. The beef is not settled, respect to her team but I still don’t like her.” Estrada continued.
“It was really hard to deal with, it was really hard to see. She said she has power? It was a headbutt!” Esparza said.
Cobbs Exciting in Win
Blair the Flair Cobbs 13-0-1 9KOs is exciting if anything. In a showcase fight, Cobbs did what he’s done his last few outings; run into trouble early, and rally back to stop his opponent. Carlos Ortiz 11-5 11KOs of Mexico landed a hard right hand on the top corner of Cobbs head dropping him.

Cobbs would beat the count and regain his composure, firing long five-six punch combinations Cobbs began to wear down his opponent. At the end of the sixth Ortiz quit on his stool giving Cobbs a 7th round TKO victory.
Cobbs said “He caught me with one good shot in the first round and I doubled back and got him. I am the best, most impressive fighter in the world today! I am Blair the Flair Cobbs!”
