McCaskill Defeats Braekhus in Rematch for Undisputed Title

In a rematch for the undisputed women’s welterweight title Jessica McCaskill 10-2 3KOs turned in a better performance than the first fight handing a second defeat to Cecilia Braekhus 36-2 9KOs. In the first fight Braekhus was able to turn it on down the stretch but the ‘First Lady’ was unable to muster any semblance of her former self. Losing a unanimous decision on scores of 100-89, 99-90, 98-91.

Braekhus was docked a point for holding in the seventh and couldn’t put together punches behind her jab. McCaskill found a home for her right hand early and often out-landing Braekhus.

Kyoguchi Wins TKO After Vargas Injury

Undefeated Light Flyweight Champion Hiroto kyoguchi 15-0 10KOs defended his WBA Title against 4’10” Axel Aragon Vega 14-4-1 8KO by fifth round TKO.

In a fast paced action fight on the inside Vega pressed the action landing crisp hooks and uppercuts until landing a hard right hook to the top of Kyoguchi’s head injuring his hand. Vega turned immediately after landing the punch running from Kyoguchi wincing in pain. The referee immediately jumped in calling a halt to the fight at 1:32 of the fifth to give the Japanese champion the victory.

Williams Wins in Step Up

Austin “Ammo” Williams 9-0 6KOs took on tough late opponent Dennis “Momma’s Boy” Douglin 22-8 14KOs after his original opponent fell out with an injury. Douglin represented a clear step up in competition for the young prospect from Texas.

After a competitive opening round Williams took over the action beating the Momma’s boy to the punch and landing the harder shots. After eight rounds the final scores were 79-73 (twice) and 77-75 for Williams as he wins by unanimous decision.

Ford Draws with Fellow Un-beaten Perez

Opening the card Raymond Ford 8-0-1 4KOs scored a split draw against unbeaten Aaron Perez 10-0-1 6KOs. Despite being the clear sharper of the two, Ford’s mistakes gave Perez the openings needed to tighten the scores. Early in the fight Perez was the aggressor landing as Ford pulled straight back. After the fourth round Ford tightened up his defense and landed the sharper punches.

On scores of 78-74 for Perez, 77-75 for Ford, and 76-76 the eight round fight was scored a split draw.
