Ontario, CA December 21st, 2019- The Toyota Arena was raucous and rowdy by the time Jermell Charlo 33-2 16KOs and Tony Harrison 28-3 21KOs met in the center of the ring.
The sequel to Harrison’s upset victory over Charlo earlier this year delivered more excitement and sways in momentum to provide an excellent close to 2019.

A left hook from Charlo in the second round put Harrison down early in the fight but the Detroit native recovered taking command of center ring.
Charlo the aggressor, Harrison the boxer went back and forth until the 11th round when a right hook from Charlo sent Harrison down. Harrison would beat the count only to get pummeled to the canvas again. Struggling to his feet Harrison was on spaghetti legs until referee Jack Reiss had seen enough and called a halt to the fight at 2:28 of the eleventh round.
Harrison boxed well mixing punches to the body and head from a defensive posture stifling Charlo in the second half of rounds. In a tale of two fights Charlo was aggressive in the first half of every round and Harrison took command for the final two minutes.

“Listen, I’m a gentleman at the end of the day. I showed my respect, but at the end of the day, I don’t like the dude. He can get it again, but I’m off to bigger and better things. I’m down for making history. He held the title too long and I had to come back and get it.” Charlo said after the fight.
At the time of the stoppage Charlo was ahead on split scorecards with one judge scoring the fight 95-94 for Harrison and 96-93 twice for Charlo.
