Canelo Enrolls in year round VADA testing
Los Angeles (May 15 2018)- Following a slew of criticism for not enrolling in year round drug testing Saul Canelo Alvarez announced on Twitter the he has enrolled into the VADA program.
“I want to let you know that I just signed the contract with @Vada_testing for year round testing” – @Canelo
The announcement follows a wave of criticism after being dropped from WBC rankings for failing to enroll in the clean boxing program.
Para informarles que acabo de firmar el contrato con @Vada_Testing para pruebas durante todo el año.

Gennady Golovkin promoter Tom Loeffler has expressed that any future deal would involve year round testing. This move clears that hurdle, making a potential September rematch still possible.
Alvarez’s enrollment sets a precedent for future positive tests from anyone in the sport.
Test year round, or be scorned.
Canelo’s choice to preserve his reputation goes a long way to rebuilding his credibility with critics of his “contaminated meat” defense for testing positive for clenbuterol in February.
