Santiago was docked a point for punching after the bell in the fourth and was ahead on the unofficial scorecard of Steve Farhood however the stars weren’t meant to align for a victory.
In spots Broner fired combinations and flashed speed but the two year layoff showed in his timing as Santiago found the mark enough to warrant a sideways look at the scores.
In Adrian Broner fashion the post fight interview became more of a subject for discussion than the fight. “It is a different AB. What happened was I only had $13 coming into this motherf—ing fight. We done flipped it to about $13 million so a lot of things are going to change. I’m not going to lie. For the rest of the weekend we are going to flip bottles and have sex but I’ll be back to the gym after this weekend.” said Broner.
