Alexis Rocha Faces Blair Cobbs in Ortiz Mckinison Co-Main Event

Santa Ana, CA (March 8, 2022)- TKO Boxing Club opened its doors to the media and public for a chance to see Golden Boy’s welterweight prospect Alexis ‘Lex’ Rocha ( 18-1 12KO’s) workout for his upcoming fight. Rocha is set to take on undefeated and charismatic Blair ‘The Flair’ Cobbs (15-0-1 10KO’s) at the USC Galen Center in Los Angeles as the co-main event on March 19th. This will be the Rocha’s second consecutive fight headlining the co-main event.

After losing his first pro fight by unanimous decision to Rashidi Ellis, Rocha was asked if he’s watched any video of the fight.

“To be honest I’ve only watched one or two rounds. I can’t watch the whole thing. I get mad at myself. I was there live and I know what I did wrong. I don’t want to relive that because I don’t want to lose ever again in my life,” Rocha said.

Rocha bounced back from his first loss to Ellis and has gone 2-0 with 2 KO’s and got the opportunity to fight in his back yard once again when he defeated Jeovanis Barraza (23-2 15KO’s) at the Honda Center in Anaheim CA.

“It felt amazing fighting in my back yard. It’s an unreal feeling when you have a whole community following you. I’m very grateful that I get the love and support from my city of Santa Ana,” Rocha said.

While Rocha was sparing Vergil Ortiz Jr. and getting ready for an orthodox fighter, Coach Hector Lopez received the call that the opponent was Cobbs and quickly changed the game plan.

“We were sparring Vergil [Ortiz] and found out that Cobbs was the opponent who is a southpaw. I got him some sparing with Regis Prograis and camp has been smooth. Look ‘Lex’ has been sparring with some great southpaws like Josh Taylor and Manny Pacquiao who are world champs and future hall of famers. Our loss to Ellis was a hiccup and you can’t compare Cobbs to Ellis. Cobbs hasn’t fought anyone of that caliber,” Lopez said.

Fighting 30 miles north of his backyard, Rocha will most likely have the hometown crowed behind him at the Galen Center in downtown Los Angeles.
