Stevenson’s Body Shot Ends Fight in Six.

Las Vegas (June 9, 2020)- After three long moths without boxing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, WBO featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson (13-0 7KO’s) jumped up a weight class to junior lightweight facing Felix Caraballo (13-1-2 9KO’s) in a 10 round non-title fight. Stevenson dropped Caraballo in the first round with a body shot that didn’t seem to faze the Puerto Rican fighter. In the sixth round, Stevenson’s speed and power led to a perfect left hand body shot that floored Caraballo for good.

After being compared to Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather by ESPN’s Bernardo Osuna, Stevenson explained after the fight how he took styles from different great fighters and combined them all together. The Newark native wants to unify titles against Josh Warrington and is even willing to fight the Englishman in his own back yard if the purse is right.
